After having read the Johnston and Taylor’s (2008) article “Feminist Consumerism and Fat Activists: A Comparative Study of Grassroots Activism and the Dove Real Beauty Campaign”, select an advert and provide a critical analysis of gender relations emerging from your advert. For example, you can talk about the objectification of the body/bodies, the representations of femininity and masculinity and the related issues of doing gender. These are simply suggestions. You are welcome to find your own ways of unpacking gender issues in the advert. In doing so, please refer to the relevant literature (a minimum of 10 citations from academic sources).

Please type all text with 1.5 line spacing and 12 size font. All material should be properly referenced according to the Harvard system of referencing used in most academic journals. This style of referencing is used in the Journal of Marketing Management (UK) available in the library and detailed on the back cover of the journal; addresses should be listed alphabetically.

2. Demonstrate the ability to apply theoretical concepts to the case study.
3. Demonstrate the ability to clearly express your ideas in academic writing.
